January 1, 2018 will bring a fabulous, extra special new shawl to you!
Think about the Scottish Highlands, ancient castles, stone circles, and big woolen cloaks. Gaze over misty Loch Rannoch. Whichever era you find yourself in, this classic shawl will keep you fashionably warm.
The kit includes 4 skeins of yarn, a handmade celtic knot shawl pin, and a pattern code for Ravelry.
The first yarn option is made of locally sourced alpaca and merino wool from Independence Farms in Tennessee, dyed by Unplanned Peacock in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. This yarn is rustic, textured with slight alpaca halo, and drapey. Two skeins will be the natural alpaca color (either cream or grey), and two will be dyed. These kits are very limited edition, so get them while they are available!
The second yarn option is our soft and squishable Mellow Merino. Two skeins will be the natural color and two will be dyed.
The shawl pin is hand made by Crafty Flutterby Creations. The focal bead for the pin features a Celtic knot design. Since the beads are hand made, the colors do vary. We will pick the color that will best match your yarn colors.
The pattern will be a mystery until its release on January 1, 2018. You'll get a code for the pattern, which you can use on Ravelry that day. The shawl will involve cabling and is a advanced beginner to intermediate skill level.
The MKAL will last 2 months, and at the end, anyone who finishes and posts a picture including the shawl pin in the Ravelry thread by March 1 will be entered into a drawing for a free skein of yarn and a hand made shawl pin.
The MKAL will be hosted by Michelle in her Ravelry Group.
